Women as Catalysts for SDG Localization: Keynote by Dr. Trương Thục Tuyền

At the LeadHerShip Young Professional Summit 2025, held on 11–12 October at SIHUB Ho Chi Minh City, one of the most inspiring moments came from Dr. Trương Thục Tuyền, Senior Lecturer at RMIT University Vietnam.

In her keynote titled “Women as Catalysts of SDG Localization: Insights from Vietnam,” Dr. Tuyền explored how women play a pivotal role in transforming the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) from global frameworks into local action. Drawing from her research and practical experience, she highlighted that “women are not only beneficiaries of sustainable development — they are the driving force behind it.”

🌍 From Global Goals to Local Action

Dr. Tuyền discussed Vietnam’s progress in localizing the SDGs and emphasized that achieving the 2030 Agenda depends on empowering women to lead change at every level — from community initiatives to policy design. She showcased examples of women-led projects in education, environmental management, and entrepreneurship that are reshaping sustainable practices across Vietnam.

👩‍🎓 The Power of the Next Generation

Citing her recent research on Gen Z women and sustainability, Dr. Tuyền revealed that young Vietnamese women are increasingly conscious of environmental and social responsibility and are ready to embed sustainability values into their studies, careers, and lifestyles.

🤝 Inclusive Partnerships for a Sustainable Future

Closing her keynote, Dr. Tuyền underscored the importance of collaboration:

“Gender equality is not a women’s issue — it’s everyone’s issue. When women lead, communities thrive.”

Her message resonated deeply with the Summit’s spirit — empowering young people of all genders to become changemakers for a sustainable and inclusive future.
